Apart from blocking the view of the store, in many cases the grille has given the store owner a false sense of security as it can be easily removed using a chain attached to the vehicle's towbar. Hammerglass ADD-ON is the anti-burglary protection for existing toughened safety glass or laminated safety glass that stays in place permanently.

Recommended alternative to grilles and roller shutters

Hammerglass ADD-ON window protection consists of a Hammerglass pane in a steel profile that can be fitted to the inside or outside of existing fixed or opening windows and doors. The existing toughened safety glass or laminated safety glass can be left in place. The system offers effective protection against burglars. The ADD-ON profile made of cold-rolled steel protects and reinforces existing timber frames and makes burglary attempts considerably more difficult. In the event of an attempted break-in, the material offers no leverage, as the steel profile only gives way at the break-in point itself, unlike the more rigid aluminum profiles, which can be bent open when a tool is pressed under the profile. The system also ensures energy savings and improvements in the U-value as well as a noise reduction of 30 dBRw. ADD-ON is certified as protection up to security class P8B and is recommended by insurance companies as an alternative to anti-theft grilles and roller shutters.

Installation and warranty

Hammerglass ADD-ON is only installed by recommended installers to ensure the highest quality. The glazing material is 6 mm or 8 mm Hammerglass (10 mm or 12 mm Hammerglass for larger windows). The Hammerglass is glued along the edge and then screwed through the steel profile to ensure an optimal result and a secure fit. The installation does not further affect the existing architecture. All Hammerglass panes are laser-marked with a logo and production number to ensure traceability for internal quality assurance and security in case of warranty issues.
