Hammerglass multifunctional balustrade solutions provide a transparent and attractive barrier for effective wind and noise protection. Our systems are used as safety barriers at bus stations and arenas, as fall protection at grandstands and walls, and as railings for stairs and balconies. We specially adapt the design of the posts and fixings to ensure safe installation of the shatterproof, splinter-free glazing solutions. .

Options that endure

With a strength 300 times that of glass and half the weight of glass, Hammerglass is an attractive alternative for public areas.

The importance of splinter-free guardrails

It is five o'clock, many have finished work - office workers, school children, mothers with prams - they are all on their way home. There is a crowd at the bus stop - then the bus arrives.

Shatterproof balustrade solutions made of hammer glass form an effective barrier between travellers and arriving buses at the bus station. If something goes wrong, a balustrade that does not scatter broken glass can be crucial. Our guardrails are supplied with fixed or opening sections. The panels are mounted to the existing balustrade structure, to a Hammerglass post system or with project-specific mounting solutions.

Unbreakable glass in staircases

The stairs leading to the schoolyard, the railway area and public open spaces are prone to vandalism. With Hammerglass instead of glass in the balustrade panels, it is no longer so funny for vandals because the glass simply does not break.

Hammerglass eliminates the embarrassment of broken glass after acts of vandalism, the high cost of cleaning and replacing with heavy and difficult to handle glass panels. The panes are mounted to the existing railing structure, to a Hammerglass post system or with project-specific mounting solutions. Mounting the handrails directly into the Hammerglass panes works very well.

Fall protection for arenas and grandstands

The home team scores goals, the crowd cheers, the pressure in the stands increases. When many people are gathered in a confined space, the risk of accidents increases. With Hammerglass in spectator protection instead of laminated or tempered glass, this risk is reduced.

Our shatterproof solutions can be mounted in most public arenas (here in the Swedish National Arena). The screens are manufactured with rounded corners and bevelled edges to avoid the risk of cuts. They are mounted to the existing balustrade structure, to a Hammerglass post system or with specially developed mounting solutions.

Noise barriers as fall protection...

The Hammerglass system for noise barriers can also be used as transparent protection around playgrounds or skate parks in the centre. Ideal for crèches, kindergartens or schools in busy urban areas. Effective noise reduction combined with a clear view contributes to a good outdoor environment for adults and children of all ages.

Artistic prints, colours and flashes

Hammerglass is normally supplied as clear or opal panes. However, for larger series, it is possible to produce coloured impregnated Hammerglass. Hammerglass panes can also be screen printed or have a photographic four-colour print to create a vibrant and attractive street environment.

A printed or colour impregnated hammer glass panel with strategically placed LED lighting creates a striking effect, providing an attractive point of light in the night-time darkness.
