Description
Transparent noise barriers - Hammerglass
CE marked transparent noise barriers for roads, bridges and railroads. Both the light weight and hard surface of Hammerglass make it a popular choice not only for new projects but also for glass replacement. The use of nanotechnology helps prevent pollutants from exhaust fumes, oil and asphalt from sticking to Hammerglass as easily as they do to ordinary glass. The estimated service life is more than 40 years. Hammerglass noise control systems are installed on bridge railings and traffic dividers as well as on roads and railroads in Sweden, Norway and Finland.
Our solutions are CE marked
Roadside noise barriers must be CE marked according to EN 14388 - regardless of whether they are made of wood, aluminium, glass or plastic. The only exception to the CE marking requirement are crash barriers that are built on site from loose wood. If, on the other hand, the elements are manufactured in a factory, the screen must be CE marked. However, the fact that a screen is CE marked does not automatically mean that it is a high quality product or that it meets the requirements that the customer wants to fulfil. The point of the CE standard is that it should be easier to specify requirements because all products have been tested or calculated to the same standard. However, the requirements must be specified in such a way that they make sense in relation to the product supplied. Hammerglass noise barriers are CE marked according to the applicable standards.
Reduce noise
The effect of a noise barrier depends on the height and thickness of the wall on the one hand and on the speed of the passing vehicles on the other. An effective noise barrier is 4-6 metres high. We can assist you with the acoustic calculation to determine exactly how high a particular wall should be based on the local conditions. To further enhance the noise-reducing effect, the Hammerfoam absorber can be installed in combination with Hammerglass.
Posts and mounting systems
Hammerglass has a wide range of stolpar and insertion solutions that can be adapted to how the heaters are to be placed and mounted. Stolparna can be installed in broräcken, på plintar eller på mur - och hållfasthetsberäknas utifrån höjd och loadpåverkan.
The Hammerglass panels are usually 12 mm thick. Before the panels are cut to size, each section of the noise barrier is measured individually for glazing so that it is possible to produce walls that follow the contours of the ground. This means that the noise barrier does not have to be stepped in the event of height differences. Height and design are individually tailored to each project.
If necessary, the panels are fixed with wire or through bolts. The panels can also be patterned - usually opal or black - to prevent collisions with birds.
NOISE ABSORBING HAMMERFOAM
Hammerfoam is a complete noise absorbing system for installation on bridges or walls along roads or railways.
The system is based on a fully assembled Hammerglass floor or bridge solution and is complemented by a highly absorbent mat that is clamped to the Hammerglass panel. The Hammerfoam is placed on the side facing the railway track or roadway. On the outside of the barrier, the vandal-proof Hammerglass panel is attached, which is also sunk approx. 20 cm into the ground. Hammerfoam can also be used in combination with other materials - e.g. painted decorative panels - as noise protection, as in the 400 m long weather protection at Rosengård station (Malmö, Sweden).
Hammerfoam is flame retardant, UV resistant and ageing resistant. It also resists chemicals and high-pressure cleaners used for graffiti removal. Hammerfoam does not absorb water.
SYSTEM MARK-2
A complete CE-marked system with screw groups for installation in the ground or on walls, along roads or rails. Can be supplied up to a height of 6 metres.
Hot-dip galvanised square posts with a base plate for ground mounting. Installation can be done on retaining walls or with ground anchors. The Hammerglass panels are clamped between an HFRHS post and a robust clamping profile and secured at the top with wire if required. The Hammerglass panels are mounted on the inside of the posts (facing the street).
When mounting with bolt groups in the ground, it is advisable to bury the panels to a depth of approx. 20 cm to prevent the transmission of noise under the barrier. For installation along rail tracks, all screens are fitted with earthing bars and each section is earthed separately. A 45-degree bend at the top of the Hammerglass panels reinforces the structure while helping to effectively reduce low-frequency noise from trains. The Hammerglass panels can also be supplied with printed patterns to prevent bird collisions.
SYSTEM BRIDGE-2
A complete system for mounting on bridge piers along roads or railway lines. Can be supplied up to a height of 6 metres.
Hot-dip galvanised posts for lateral mounting on bridge posts. The Hammerglass panels are mounted on the outside of the posts with an external support plate and a clamping profile. If necessary, the panels are secured at the top with wire. The mounting is done from the inside of the bridge.
For installation along railway tracks, all screens are fitted with earthing bars and each section is separately earthed. A 45-degree bend at the top of the Hammerglass screens reinforces the structure while helping to effectively reduce low-frequency noise from trains.
Hammerglass panels can also be supplied with printed patterns to prevent bird collisions.
SYSTEM BRIDGE-3
A complete CE marked system for mounting on a bridge on the side of the bridge girder along roads or railways. It can be supplied up to a height of 6 metres.
The Hammerglass panels are clamped between an HFRHS post and a robust clamping profile and secured at the top with wire if required. Normally the screen is angled outwards to maintain the working width of the road barrier.
For installation along railway tracks, all screens are fitted with earthing bars and each section is earthed separately. A 45-degree bend at the top of the Hammerglass panels reinforces the structure while helping to effectively reduce low-frequency noise from trains.
Hammerglass panels can also be supplied with printed patterns to prevent bird collisions.
TRANSPARENT NOISE BARRIER WITHOUT POSTS
Visibility without noise! The new CE-marked noise barrier from Hammerglass to be used in the Stockholm bypass area is self-supporting. By bending the Hammerglass panels where there should be a post, the screen itself becomes so rigid that no steel post is needed between the glass panels.
The barrier is provided with thin strips against bird collisions, which cannot be seen from a distance but are nevertheless registered by birds. The result is an almost invisible noise barrier!
SECURITY FITTINGS
Depending on the location and design of the noise barrier, Hammerglass panels must be secured to prevent them from tearing out of their fastenings, the wall being under tension and birds flying into the panels.
- Hammerglass panels are secured to the top with wire
- When mounted next to the track, each screen is earthed with a separate earthing bar
- The curved top provides a high degree of stability and is often used along railway lines where a high compressive force is exerted by passing trains.
- Printed patterns prevent bird collisions
- Design and assembly
Involve us in your considerations as early as the idea phase. Our designers create drawings and make suggestions for functional solutions. We will also be happy to submit quotations for complete projects: Hammerglass made to measure, posts, fastening systems and assembly.
- The panels are made to measure after a steel skeleton or similar has been mounted.
- Ready-made solutions for fastening and mounting
- 300 times stronger than glass
- Half the weight of glass
- No glass breakage
- Minimal maintenance
- Clear view of the surroundings
