750 metres of noise barrier along the E22

The 750 m noise barrier along the E-22 in Kalmar has been completed on site. The entire noise barrier is printed with stylised LEAF patterns from Hammerglass to prevent birds from flying into the glass. In addition, 12 of the 400 Hammerglass panes have a motif print specially designed for the city of Kalmar. A total of 40 tonnes of glass panes were installed.

The end customer, Kalmar Municipality, was clear that the privacy screen should blend in as well as possible with the terrain:

• Transparent, unbreakable hammerglass noise barrier
• Natural looking pattern of stylised leaves to prevent birds from flying into the windows and customised prints for the city of Kalmar
• Each disc is individually measured and cut into a trapezoidal shape to follow the contour of the ground rather than being stepped where the ground is sloping
• Easy to clean from graffiti and street dirt
